How does this stock list sound?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
IMO ur original idea would work although I'm not sure about the vieja. So if u remove it and the remaining BGJD's after getting a pair with ur EBJD, the breeding convicts will take up a little space in a 140gal. The texas might be harrased by the two pairs but then again you have a looot of dithers in there to keep everyone busy. I think with enough caves and decoration to break up the line of sight you'll be more then OK.

Thanks. I think I'll try it this way and see what happens. If there is too much aggression I'll remove the pink cons and go from there. I've got lots of driftwood and rocks to go in the tank so there will be plenty of hiding places. I also have quite a few live plants so we'll see how long it takes for them to get destroyed lol

Yes, the cons will only take up a small space for the nest. They will attack everyone who comes within a larger area near it taking more room. Once the fry are born dad will swim across the tank to attck someone he views as a threat. When they get a little bigger dad takes them for a swim around the tank, once again attacking anyone near. Really a huge pain in a community tank. Plus the fry will start inbreeding with each other quickly making it worse each time. Have not heard too much about aggression with EBJD's and mine would not even compete for food. Maybe too stressful for them.

If the cons get to be too much I've got a 20 gallon long waiting for them. I was hoping to keep it open for a grow out/hospital tank but will use it for them if they get too aggressive.

I'm not sure how big your EBJD is, but if it the size of the one in your picture, than I am worried about it. That seems like a lot of stress for a fish that tends to deal poorly with it.
