How does your fish behave during water changes?

...or during any kind of in-the tank work? Do they panic or cower away in a far corner from where you are working?Mine mostly calmly move back and forth in the tank and some of them like to get it the way of what I am doing.

depends on the tank.

My native 40B tank is pretty inquisitive. my pumpkinseed usually attacks my hand because he thinks im holding food, my bluegill follows me around, and the darters all line up and watch me.

My gar tank...they drift around my hands but dont really go nuts.

my african/bichir tank...the loaches go crazy, the bichirs dont move, the butterfly fish zips around me, and the bushfish hide for dear life.
 
What size tank is that? Those Dats look huge.

I get a mixture of reaction. The pleco hides as always. Some of the goldfish will go to the corner. Others might venture out a little. Nearly all the cories want to see what is going on. The cories can be a pain cause I always have to watch inside to make sure I don't suck them up.
 
Depends on the water change.. normal ones of around 25% they're oblivious... huge ones around 70% or more they start acting a bit stressed

Those are rare..only done usually when other maintenance is needed and the lower level helps with that.

Wow on those Dats!

My Pbass like to touch and feel, The aros would swim around, The dats aren't as big as yours so they go into the vertical position by the edges and the best one to interact is a 14" Ornate who literally plays with me

Every times I clean my tank glass, my fish go nut swim back and forward opposite my hand direction but they will attack the water air bubles when I refilling my water, it's fun :)
