how far from the tank is your 4' light?

canopies are have a realy low profile so the lights are probley about 3" above the tank

i did but my tank turned into an algae farm so i had to raise it.

Yep, same here except mine is about 15 feet. My 2, 3' strip lights are right on top of the glass lid though.
