How fast can MBU grows?

just wandering how fast do they grow?does anyone have any experiences with their grow rate? also, how much do you think can they eat in a day?

In the first year 4-5inchs but from there on 2-3inchs a year till its about 2ft in length.

I had one that I picked up at 12" and he grew to 19" in a few months. If you keep them fed well they will grow quickly. Beautiful fish.

If you're asking because you have a small tank & are wondering when you'll need to upgrade, I'd be sure you can afford to upgrade everything this monster fish will need before you purchase this fish. Life happens & many folks never get the funds to upgrade this beauty properly. Before you know it, the fish will need a HUGE tank! well to be honest, I am sick of discussion referring to tank size over and over again, as its been stated so many times in other thread, I am sure many people here and including my self are fully aware of the amount of caring needed for this beautiful fish in our home tank. The only reason I am asking this question is because I want to know how long till my MBU reaches a decent size which I can call him a monster ;).
I've seen the link you posted and I know that web, but I just want to see people experiences with their mbu. Dont you think that each fish has different grow rates....And those are what I want to know.
I fully appreciate people thoughts with answers, instead of giving me a library to read. I've noticed that you always referring to that sites in quoting people's question in this forum, and I dont have any problem with that. But I much appreciate answers base on their experiences from keeping fish in their tank.
 
I own "that site", so why not link to info I've gathered for it after years of folk's experiences there?
