How fast do Gar's grow ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What i can sort of remeber of them , they where white more on the bottom and slightly black on top about 4inch head to tail and about 5 grouped up in the corner of the tank .

Any idea on what type ?

black on the head isnt real descriptive. many gars have black on the head and back.
*note* not all but many if u could describe any pattern that would be helpfull

pretty much but he wont go and get any... or at least wouldnt last time

Its not that i wont its cos i cannt get up there to get pictures .

I cannt drive 19 but still not bothered to go for my test , its only unless my mum or dad can take me . Hopfully next weekend or wekkend after i can get up there .

if they havnt changed/ corrected the lable on them ill will take pictures of them and get them up for your all to see what they are , and help me on saying if i can get one or not .

no gar species is good for the combo you propose, so i wouldn't waste my time just to get pics of the individuals. i would guess Florida/spotted if i had to go with what's most statistically probable, even out there.--

ok , so i shouldnt get the Gar anyways ? But if i can ill get a pic up anyhow to see what type they are i will .

What the real problem that everyone one is trying to say is that it could be a needle nose gar...or a yellow tailed gar. Which don't get that big and are not true gars and would not grow that fast and probably get eatin. I've been to a LFS in my area and it says "GAR" on the tank and its just a needle nose gar they are trying to sell.
