How fast do pbass grow?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I kept mine at 88* and do water change twice a week becoz I feed them like 3-4 times a day:). they grow about 1inch long in a month..

I have had mine for about 1 year now and they are about 6". I have read threads where people are looking to maximize the growth rate and set up their tanks accordingly. My water hovers 78-80 degrees and they are feed every 2-3 days. They are healthy but would eat a lot more if I would allow it. So I'd say it greatly depends on how you raise them.

Lol shouldn't have posted that. Everything about that's wrong. Keeping a tropical fish in cold water, under feeding, and 6 inches in a YEAR? OP please don't listen to him. These guys grow fast. Not only fast, but they get big. You must anticipate having an 18 inch fish, keep in mind adequate housing and food for such a monster. My 2 are kept in 85-87 and fed twice a day with weekly water changes of 50-75%. My first month they grew 2 inches. And I'm expecting these guys to keep up the same growth rate

Bought my Bahia Kels 4" 07/2011, they are now 13+". Orinos 1" same time now 10". Azul 5" 10/2011 now 11".

If that helps :)

I am keepin pbass, and they grow very fast - especially at the above temperatures. Mine have probably grown almost 6" and its been a little more than half a year I would say.

Just wondering - Pbass keepers. At 80F + what sort of fish are you keeping with your pbass? Not much can tolerate temperatures that high.
