how fast do they grow?

might already be a thread but how fast do red devils/midas grow?? speaking per months? i know my old oscar would grow an inch or 2 per the 1st 4months is it the same for these guys?? right now hes just eating hikari gold and tetra pellets i have feeder fish that i got when i 1st got him but are in a diffrent tank for a month to be cured of anything..so ill be throwing 2 feeders weekly after 1st month

Mine have always grown rather quickly. With frequent water changes, proper nutrition, and correct tank space, you can expect quick and steady growth. Once they grow to a substantial size their growth rate tends to slow down a bit. And no need for the feeder fish. There's really no point in them if you provide the RD with quality food. Most of those store bought feeder fish are high in fat, low in nutrition, and carry various bacteria and diseases. Tank mates are a gamble in a small tank. RDs can do a lot of damage to other tankmates if there is not enough room. Consider that before trying to keep other fish with the RD. I wouldn't keep a RD in a 75 gallon or smaller with other fish.
