Exactly!

This lady's simple gravel vacuuming process is far more complicated than it should be. Easier yet, just use a python.
 
i don't see a problem with the demonstation. I think this is a perfect video for people's first purchase in the aquarium hobby.

She does a terrible job.

  • didn't turn off the filter.. all that junk in your impeller
  • stirring up all that crap.. and then shaking out the vac inside the tank, creating a storm of debris


Poor fish...and LOL'z at people doing demo's when they SUK

I don't turn off my filters when I do water changes. Infact, it helps me out by taking some of the load of my hands....
 
Even so, she has no idea how to actually remove the waste from the gravel. She takes too much into the tube and then swirls around the weakened vacuum, making a mess. You're supposed to push the siphon down into an area the size of the opening of the siphon, wiggle gently to remove the debris from the small sample you've got, then let it drop out clean and shift precisely to the next increment. She seems to lack a simple understanding of how to efficiently operate the device. And that's just one thing wrong with the video...
