How full is your tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
you have a 300 gal but its half full so its only a 150 gal

i have no idea why people have tanks half full the more water the better

aros can also do more damage with a tank half full and they jump and hit the cover glasses as all of the aros power is from the last flick of the tail when it leaves the water

if your tank is full you only have 2-4 inch between the water level and the cover glasses meaning when the aro jumps it has less power to leave the water and smash into the cover glasses

fill it up

Exactly this...

Yep there it is.

Oh BTW my tank is now about 97% full, this is where it is kept within an inch of the top.

Allways a bliss to watch calm wizened and old aros gliding by. I love it. And as they get older i dind the appeall of the Silvers increasing versus the blacks ( which i also love ).

Several more observations from our dilm, Brian:

My aros would gulp those cichlids in a second....

Never seen such an active colony of loaches. All i ever see at other people's i sthem hiding during the day.

That flag tail is one of the biggets i have seen, taht i remember.

An impressive show.

Awesome tank! All the fish look great and I never knew you had a BGK! What does he eat? And why don't the barbs get eaten by the Arows? And the Silvers seem to be a lot thicker than your blacks!

Yes the BGK is over 16", he mainly eats sinking pellets, cut market shrimp, brine shrimp, fozen blood worms and earth worms. Not sure why the barbs are lasting added four congo tetras at the same time and they disappeared quickly. Yes the silvers have a taller, thicker body then the same length black aro.

Thanks, my only dislike with the silvers is the DE. My blacks will go after certain fish, the silvers just never have. The loaches are in a large enough group and a large enough tank to move around. I had them recently in a 120g tank and they hid all day, just came out to eat. The flagtail is about 15" shes a big one for sure.

Tank looks great

Can't work out why you are asking how full our tanks are I'm confused
