How hard is it to treat whitespot in Dats?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Large water changes every other day, while cleaning the gravel, will help remove the free-swimming parasites from the wate column, where they multiply.

Well i went to chack on him this morning and the W/S is nearly all gone there isn't much left. So i'm gonna add a little salt aswell. Thanks! I'll update hows he's getting on.

Just because there are no visible spots doesnt mean the ick is gone. They have gone to a different stage in which they multiply. This is the most important stage. Keep the salt up and you can do water changes during this period to get rid of them in their free swimming stage.

It can also help to add Melfaix, to help with any places the parasites have damaged the skin.

I know, i did a W/C and added another dose of treatment.

I've never used meds to treat ich. Just heat, salt, WC & Melafix. I hate meds! After 30 years in the hobby, I still couldn't tell you which meds treat what.
