How about 4 side plywood with one viewing side? That's a heck of a lot cheaper.

GEEZ, my lfs had 240's for $1300CDN, and i thought that was steep, i wanted to make a sweet 8'X4'X2"deep and the 3/4tempered glass, 1"regular or 1.5"acrylic would hace cost the same, about $3000-$4000 for all 5 pieces.

Have you concidered making it from acrylic, like 3/4 cellcast?

why not for the size you want. ive heard of a 1000g tank being built plywood and one viewing side. up for over 15 years before he lost track of who had it.

It was a shark tank on reef central, built with 4X4 studs plywood and 4coats of glassmat and resin, coated in epoxy paint with a 8X4 window... sweet setup
