By the way, we have had a third person die Of COVID-19, in our town of 100,000 people.

This is the 9th person to die in our county of 1 million people.

My wife is freaking out about the virus, But clearly this hasn’t really hit our area yet.

In my county, Clark in Washington state we have 475,000 people with 275 confirmed cases and 15 deaths.
Still can't get a test unless you're going into the hospital sick.

Schools have been canceled for the remainder of the 2019/2020 school year. Students will get either an A or incomplete depending on how much online classes they attend.

Store shelves are returning to normal but the stores themselves aren't. 6ft spacing, rows are one way now, limits on total number of people in the store vs square footage of the store.

Good news since I am on SSD I get food stamps. Normally it's only 39dollars a month. Well the great Governor Jay Inslee didn't want us poor folks to worry about food during this tragedy and gave us a HUGE BOOST to the amount we get till this is all over.

The decision on if we'll be moving from a level 4 lockdown to level 3 is supposed to be made today. I think there's a 50/50 chance.

When we move to level 3, retail businesses will be allowed to start operating, but will not be allowed to let customers into the store, curbside pickup only. We'll be allowed to drive again, takeaways can start operating.
Schools up to year 10 will start operating, which I think is a mistake, throwing a bunch of kids together who are useless at being hygenic at the best of times so that they can take the plague back home?

Hopefully they will drop back to stage 3 for you. We are currently at that stage and just being able to get some takeaway and simple pleasures make life more pleasant. Shops can open here but a lot aren't bothering as not many people are going out. Stage 3 has worked here but as new infections are now so low everyone is getting sick of it and wants stage 2 now. I would prefer they stretch I think out longer than necessary so we don't get a second wave in a few months and have to go through ithis all again. I'm missing the gym and taking my daughter to the library so hope they reopen soon. Both our countries have done very well with managing it so far so I guess We should be grateful as it could be so much worse.

That's good, less worry is always good.
The main thing is you seem to have gotten over it and are in better health now.
Something to celebrate in all the mess.

It’s interesting to see how things are going in different states/countries.

Here we had a slight change a week or so ago. Wal-Mart moved to only letting so many people in the store at a time. This is when I’m grateful to live in a less populated area. Even with the restrictions there is never a line to wait. So ultimately shopping is still the same. Shelves are a little better, but good luck finding antibacterial soap, alcohol, or sanitizer.

Something odd and a bit irritating is how many people are buying up poultry. I get that people are bored at home, but what do they plan to do in the coming weeks when they go back to work?
I had to break down and order the turkeys I wanted because the store is selling out the moment shipments come in.
I guess I got lucky getting chicks when I did. Now I’ll have some starting out for the year, but I’ll have to wait till July to get my shipment:/

In Panama, we're up to 4,500 cases, with 165 recovered, and 125 deaths so far, this..... in a country the size of an average state like Wisconsin, in the US. Due to our isolation, and the government restricting travel to and from the island where I live, no cases yet.
With the lack of people driving, all over the world and minimal use of petroleum, the tankers that would normally go thru the Panama Canel are backed up almost into my front yard, and I'm about 10 miles out from the mouth of the Panama Canal.

I am 72. Last Sept. I had triple bypass surgery. While I quit smoking over 10 years ago, 45 years of it has left me with COPD. So I have a target on my back as far as the virus is concerned.

In the last month I have been off the property about 3 times for about an hour each. I shop for groceries during the very early morning hours when the stores are open for seniors and high risk individuals before they open to the public. I am not married and there are no kids here. I share the house with my brother. In the past month+ the only two people who have been inside the house besides the two of us are the maid and a heater repair person when the furnace quit.

The maid has been told not to come if she feels sick at all and we will pay her. We supply her with gloves and an N-95 mask. The repair guy came with a mask on the whole time.

I am basically a hermit and have no doubt that catching this virus is a death sentence for me. The one thing that keeps me occupied are my 20 fish tanks.

The reason chickens fly off the shelves is because the supply chain for meat is now under potential threat. Meat packing plants are being hit with virus outbreaks and are being closed down. It's like the paper products and disinfecting products. To paraphrase, "a chicken in the freezer is worth two at the closed meat packing plant",,,....

Supermarket shelves are sometimes well stocked and at other times are very sparse. It depends on the day and time I guess.

Stay safe all.

Yup, we just had one shut down south of us, a major supplier to the food chain. Stay safe amigo!

I got unwatched from this thread for some reason.
Fine time for me to get sick, I have some sort of mystery illness nobody can seem to diagnose where I get spinning, paralyzing headache attacks at seemingly random times throughout the day with absolutely no warning. I can still smell (so hopefully no corona...?), but this has been going on for two weeks.

I've been stung by toadfish (a close relative of the stonefish, the sting of which is widely accepted as the most painful thing on earth) and these headaches are worse. Neurologist recommended me an MRI but can't get one because the hospitals are closed.

Again, no diagnosis, no treatment except tons of Advil and Tylenol whenever the attacks come on. I can get as many as 4 a day, and because you have to wait 6 hours in between painkiller doses, sometimes I literally can't do anything.

Don't want to say it can't get any worse in case I immediately get coronavirus.

Oh dear:/ Any chance it’s allergy related? My mom gets those exact symptoms whenever she’s around artificial scents. It’s pretty brutal.
