I grew up in the world of “heavy metal suicide (and) children of thalidomide” Sorry about the plagiarism but that is the case. These drugs may be much safer in overall terms than the cars we all drive every day. For me. Maybe all my great grandchildren turn out to have birth defects?
(It won’t be long, by the way. Three of my 8 grandchildren are working adults who now have significant others of the opposite sex. I already made a new row on the wall for the eventual baby pictures.)
What would feel significant to me is if we had good records on coronavirus cases, but because of politicization and criminal action, media bias, and medical complication, I don’t believe that we do.
Not that I think we’re going in the wrong direction. I do think we need a vaccine that is more proven, And we need some really solid evidence on when to use it.
The vaccines that I took back in 1960 turned out to have serious problems for some people. They all had a much longer test history than the COVID-19.
We don’t have official mask restrictions in our town anymore, but a lot of businesses have decided that they will keep the mask.
Consequently, when I do go out (rarely) I carry one with me. I decide whether or not I will wear it depending on the situation I am entering. I don’t personally I think it is actually protecting much of anyone from anything in my situation, but it is a social comfort to some people when they see it, and I am not interested in discomforting others with disease phobias, however mild.
