How heavy is a 210 gallon aquarium?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Mine was pretty heavy. Also moved it up a real short but steep flight of stairs out of a basement though. I think aga was the maker, but sold the tank so couldn't tell you.

My 220 took 4 people to move. And we were all pretty big dudes. One of which was my brother (peacockMadness) and he is a former bouncer at a bar. He can attest to the weight of that thing. When i bought it the guy said the tank alone was around 400lbs. We didnt believe him. I had just moved a 125 for my brother and it was a piece of cake. I'd say that 400lbs was an understatement. Good luck

Would two guys be able to lift this thing, or would I need more people?

Also, I purchased a stand with this aquarium. It was a really expensive stand at over $300. I'm assuming that this will be a nice stand with doors and everything. am I correct to assume this?

I just bought a 210g glass tank recently and My buddy and I managed to move it by ourselves. (We are not big guys) It was pretty heavy and extra help would have been appreciated, but we did it.

I am going to assume the stand will be a pine type stand that most places sell. I got the same with my set up. They look alright but are not as sturdy as you think they should be. I ended up reinforcing mine with 2x4's and putting on a 3/4" ply on the top and bottom and then trimming it out. The ply and trim were not necessary but I wanted the stand also a bit taller.

my glasscage's 240 long took 4 people to move and I wouldnt have minded having two more to help. I would guess that it weighs in the 500 pound range empty,

an aqueon 210 weighs 343lbs empty.
marineland 220 is 392lbs.

I have a Marineland 220 and can confirm the almost 400 lbs. The thing is a beast.

Three of us moved it and we are bigger guys. A fourth would have been nice.

I have a Marineland pine stand, but reinforced it by replacing a couple of the weight bearing 1x6's wall planks with 2x6's and added cross beams.

I moved my Aqueon 210 with just myself and another guy (I'm not big at all, the other guy is pretty stocky). It was heavy, but I only had to move it about 30' and up one step. For more difficult maneuvering, more people would definitely be smart.

we wouldn't be moving it far. Just out onto a trailer, a drive, then up one step and maybe 15 feet.

So different brands weigh different? I'm going to have to contact her and at least get a brand.

I hope the stand I get is a black one, as my other aquarium stands are all black.

I've got the aquarium and it's extremely heavy! It kinda sucked; I was able to pick up my end, but he couldn't pick up his. we barely got it onto the trailer, It is an aqueon btw. Stand and everything. hood is really disappointing for a 200 dollar hood.

As of right now, the tank is in my front driveway. I was able to move the stand in by myself. How far away should I keep the aquarium from the wall? I need room for an overflow.
