How heavy is a mature stingray?

Thanks for all the good input. I'd also be very interested to know how people are moving large rays. I'm sure there are different tools/techniques being used. Anyone care to share how they move a large (18"+ ray)?

Look up rubber landing nets. They are great for stingrays. They have some really wide ones perfect for larger rays.

i just picked up a 20lb weight. my 16" flower doesnt not weigh as much. I think your guys numbers are a lil high.

Nope. I think your ray's a little small....

I know my numbers are right. She was weighed with a scale. Flowers don't posses the mass that other species do.

Flower/tiger species get to massive sizes though .and certainly heavier ,but comparing they are not as nearly as beefy as more common potamotrygon . I have a flower around that size also he's chunky for a flower and is probably 5-6lbs

I used a shallow round 18 inch plastic tub I found at walmart I think. I coaxed the ray in and dumped out as much water as I could. Then put my back in it an pulled it out. I am bigger than most, about 260, and strong enough to lift 50 lbs straight up with hands fully extended. A big net would prob be best, in a few years thats what I will have to do.
