how hot can the tank get?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
On stinking hot days I'll fill some 2litre coke bottles with water and freeze them. Then when the temp in the tank gets too high I float them in the tank and it brings the temp down a few degrees

yeah the ice cube idear works. not very fast if ya are useing 2 trays... hmm maybe i should go get some more trays. use ziplock with water, then its reusable

The coke bottle is the best idea I've heard yet. A&W's new bottles have a neat look to them.

Anyway I took the goldfish out of my girlfriends 15 gallon hex and threw them in the pond last week. Just in time me thinks. Her tank hit 95 and she lost 10 out of 12 Cards. The inverts and the pleco are fine.

My african tank has gotten to 90f none the worse for wear, but better to bring it down. I like the bottle trick, but I use 8oz water bottles.

put in as many or as few as needed, lucky no AC issues 2 years so far

I suppose a drip change system on cold would work nice too, but I havn't rigged one yet.
