How hot is too hot???

just wondering if you are spending $400 on electric cause you are running the a/c why not just buy the chiller and your electric bill would be a lot less $

I thought about the chiller, but I dont know if I like the fluctuations of the chiller kicking on an off since it will probably be +/- 1.5 degrees or more. I just took one of the lids off and it is around 87 degrees which is fine by me lol. I had to put the lid back on the sump as I did a water change and noticed mold above the compartment where I have my K3 chamber... NOT GOOD lol.

im sure someone else has chimed in but i opened my lids and put a fan facing the water. temperature in my garage was 86 and the temp in the tank went down low enough for the heater to go back on :) worked great

I just removed one of the lids and it looks like it is helping a lot. If I need to, I will remove the other lid but this idea I think has done the trick for now... been off for about 3 days now.

My ray systems are 77-79 winter and 85-86 summer with no issues. 88-90 for more than a few weeks consecutively would concern me. Can you drip cool water if you have a drip system? Cooler water during your weekly water changes?

Yea... winters for me is 83.7-84.3. I do not like the drip system at all. I did a water change and dropped the temp down to 80 degrees, but it's slowly climbing back up. I last time I checked it was at 84.8 and I did the water change on Saturday.
