How I allmost killed my entire tank off today

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Absolutely you need to do some plumbing work so you can refill tanks with warm water.First thing I did in my fishroom was a little custom plumbing for a high flow faucet.Glad the fish are ok.

That was a close one!

Our house didn't have a sink in the basement, so when my hubby built the fishroom he also put in a tub sink by the washer. It only took a couple hours to do it; he just tapped into the pipes going to the washer, put in some T's to split the water flow, and plumbed the sink from there.

Thats one of the reasons I added a shop sink to my basement.. the other was lugging 5 gallon buckets up and down the steps while doing 120g of water changes :D

I knew there was other MFK'ers out there who did this ridiculous act. :headbang2
I remember when I got my first 29!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was soo excited to fill it up and let it cycle that I used an old milk jug(didn't have a bucket back then) and filled it upstairs and went to the basement to fill the 29. 29 trips later it was filled.:nilly: Now I got the old Python thank you Jedidiah!!!!!!!

Thanks alot everyone-----All the fish are alive. The payara's all have splits in there dorsal and anal fins from the stress I am guessing. So they are getting some salt for awhile. And i am planning my plumbing revamp. thanks again

Wow now i can say i have to rethink my system over again. Does your waterline allways put out that cold water? When i do 50% water changes my tank with 2 400w heater stays around 75 or lower now cuz winter time the line are colder. But the last time i did a water change i just installed more heaters... a 150w n 90w raised the temp faster from COLD water.

Also how do those water tap hoses work on sinks? hmm
