algae is just what happens. if you don't have a strong light it isn't too bad, if you light is really strong or in direct sunlight part of the day it can be a pain.
 
You could also try a bristlenose pleco. They stay small and, assuming your water parameters aren't the issue, one should be able to keep everything nice and clean. You'll want to find the underlying cause of the algae, though- could just be the fact that you have oscars.
Most likely because I have the lights on a lot (10 hrs a day) and I know I am not going to be able to change that because of my working hours. I did get a UV sterilizer and water is good. Just algae on glass and décor now. I think Ill get some a couple pleco .

I work crazy hours too so I put my light on a timer. Works great!
