That is interesting...and much easier haha I use the hand test as well. If it feels warm to my hand and cool to my arm (like testing baby milk haha), I'm ready to go. Because I'm adding to a large tank, I'm confident that if I'm close its not possible to change the temp too much. Recently i've decided to keep water in a large garbage can for water changes so I'll just drop a heater in it, but that's more to make my water changes easy i guess. But if you're going right from the sink, this gun seems to be the best way to go!
