How is a pleco sexed?

Thanks for the info everyone. I'll have to put him into a container where I can get a good over head shot next time I clean out the tank.

And thanks for the compliment. Oddly enough, if the pleco is held at the right angle under light he looks really light tan and has a very brindle looking pattern. But anywhere in the tank he appears, he looks really dark almost black. I'll try and get better pics up next cleaning.

I think all the mods should know they are appreciated. There's a wealth of information on this site. I can't imagine managing it is easy at all, and then all the people on top of it. It's a great and pleasant site to be on. Bravo to all that maintain it.
