OK so I've seen videos of a black and silver arowana coexist in a tank together but when I had my baby silvers in together the smaller nipped at the larger ones fin so I had to move him

Here's my question. I order a black baby arowana and it will be here in around 2-3 weeks my question is how can I have him in with the silver without problems?

He will be around 4 inches but my silver is at 7 right now how long will I have to grow him out more? What are the proper steps to get 2 arowana to coexist?

hey mate.. a aro community is generally a hit or a miss.. how big is your tank firstly? i'd recommend you grow them out till they are about 12" in separate tanks.. the black (or silver) when around 4" are pretty fragile.. but once they started bulking up they will be fine.. if you try introducing them right away in most cases the larger aro will whack the black.. if your tank is large enough you could use a glass divider and grow them so they would(could) get used to each other.. usually aro communities are not 2 aros.. they are in odd numbers like 3, 5 etc.. the reason behind this is the aggression is scattered.. but again there are people with two aros in the same tank and all has been well.. best bet is a a massive tank.. aros fed well and dither fish to keep them occupied.. all the best any way.. you could search through the forum and you will find earlier queries of the same nature..

Tank size is not a problem since they're in a 125 till they're big enough for a pond but I agree with hit and miss since that's the general rule for fish I was hoping there's a secret to the arowana LOL or atleast tips to increase my success rate

It is can be done but the agression will be still there..but no one will hurt or die..I have done in an so some of members here..
U might want to search the forum, I'm too lazy t8o search it for u.

There is no secret, no tricks to make it work, it is purely hit or miss. If they fight the majority of the time you'll end up with a dead aro if not separated. What you do need to have is a way to immediately separate the arowana if things go bad. So most likely you'll need to have two tanks to attempt this, with luck you'll find some taht will co habitat.

Two SA arowana will quickly out grow a 125g tank.
