U should try with 2 first and have plan B handy, 5 aros is way too much for a tank or tiny pond, u would be suprise the odd is in ur favor despite the nay sayers

Got any pics of your arowana community?

i must've gotten really lucky. This pic was taken about a year ago. I only have one of these aros left. I sold 2, 1 jumped out while i was on vacation, and 1 died from stress when i moved the first time.

Did you raise them up from young or buy them big?

I don't think anyone mentioned this yet (I kinda skimmed the thread), but the silver is going to grow much faster than the black. If you start with a silver that is already bigger than the black, you won't be able to grow out the black fast enough to catch the silver. There will definitely be aggression issues in a few months time when the black is snack size in comparison. The main reason for aggression as far as i understand is to show their dominance and food.. long back i used to have two small arowana around 4" to 5" in the same tank.. one of the aros used to whack the other and always keep it at the bottom of the tank.. thats when i decided to move them to their own tanks.. and before i built my pond.. these aros had outgrown their tanks and the only other tank i had was a 120G.. by that time i had got one more aro and was almost the same size as these two.. i had 3 aro in the same 120G without a fight.. and they were easily 22" to 26" in size when i moved them.. the way i started was i put in some 50 goldfish(i don't recommend using feeders.. even once in a while.. but i wanted them to be dither fish and food) and moved the aros into the tank.. i used to keep them well fed always.. and to your question about having 3 aro.. might work.. just give it a shot.. or get 5.. you'll jus end up lucky like the rest of us.. cheers mate

In my opinion, this is the most informative post in this thread..

Thanks Kaya.
