How is this flowerhorn..??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
you could try chingmix, grandsumo, humpyhead, ect ect for improving the kok
but im not sure if it would do that FH any good.., it doesnt look like it will have a kok..
as for color, you could use chingmix maxima or just feed it live or frozen bloodworms, krill, ect ect

those foods will just enchace things, the fish needs the genes to start with, and by the looks of it this fish doesn't have the kok gene. If it did, it would show by now.

If u didnt state that it was a fh i woulda thought it was a nice trimac.

You havent seen to many Trimac have you?:screwy:

I LOVE the tear drop under his or her eye... Looks nice... Also agree with the small or no kok for that fish... You should prob do 50-70% w/c each week. Dont scrub the tank every 20 days either... Just clean the glass here and there and same with gravel. Also dont completely clean filter either or you will end up with dead fishies... G/L with your new fish. I think it looks good.;)

exactly what he said
genes have alot to do with the color and kok of FH's

u change the entire water every 20 days. :O. dont do that.. u will be throwing out all the good bacteria that help complete the nitrogen cycle... change 30% every 3-4 days and get a good filter.... use water conditioners as use mentioned on the bottle... dont use soap in the tank..whats the tank size and what fish do u have in there?

Thanks a lot every one..:).

Any sugestions for improving the kon and the color. I know the green lines are because of the stress, or some problem in the fish.. Any sugestions for gettign rid of it..

I change 30-40% water once in 3 days. and complete cleaning of the tank every 20 days.
This is a 80 liters tank with, 1FH, 1OSCAR of the same size, 2 Parrots and 2, Jwell chichlets.

The FH is the most dominating one and the bigest one amongs all of them.

The filteration i have is one underbed filter and and one biological filter.

Do you have another tank for when all teh fish get bigger? That's a fairly large stock list for a 20g/80l tank. Especially if your fh is already hitting 4". How big is everything else?

holy crap yeah that is real small for those fishes.

The parrots and the chichlets are of nearly the same size 1.5 to 2 inches. only the oscar and the FH have growen up to be nearly 4 inches.

They all where 1.5 to 2 inches when i got them but the FH and the oscars have grown up to be nealy 4 inches.

you need to get the fh and oscar in to something bigger sharpish or they will get there growth stunted

i have a small small jaguar cichlid it hasent grown for ages and its like 3inchs because my friend kept it in a small tank for quite long

lol at who ever sed it was a trimac
