I've got 3 extension chords plugged in from 3 different circuits and I've got 2-4 power strips on each of them filled with heaters/filters. All the wires are on the floor and water always ends up on the floor. I know these are the ingredients for an electrical fire so I was wondering how everybody else has their electrical setup? Luckily my girlfriends dad is an electrician so as long as I get the materials he will wire everything up for me. Any photos/advice would be appreciated.

Im electician myself...I suggest getting atleast 2 circuit for it.well IT depends on how much Juice u need(how much watts u need).....but to be in a safe side 2 dedicated circuits....and with gfi..to protect U

Well You are now no longer welcome to do electrical work for me :D:D:D!!!

I was going to run my shed.. But we are moving.... So not doing it any more..

I am currently using 9 outlet fixtures.... Not the safest but is what I am workin with right now :)

any question about electrical I'm glad to help to any fellow monster keepers.:)

well in my fishroom i have gat at leat ten double sockets along the top and ten along the bottom shelf plus about 10 single sockets on top+bottom on a timer for lights

I ran a dedicated 20 amp circuit to my sump room and use two GFCI outlets. One of the outlets is switched with the switch under my tank in the cabinet. Great for shutting off the sump pump during feeding time or water changes.

I have 1 20 amp line with 4 quad outlets and 1 15 amp line with 8 quad outlets. All the lights are plugged into powerstrips on 2 outdoor timers.Wired it myself when I moved in.As I replaced all my air pumps with a central unit and sumps Im actually using less outlets than when I set up the room.
I'm not an electrician but at least I can spell it!

j/k I worked for years as an industrial mechanic and part of my job was designing electrical layouts for woodworking machinery in small factories.

I started blowing fuses to my room the other day. My fish room is also a reptile room, so it's heated to ~80F year round, and has several heating fixtures for the herps as well as the fish. I won't be able to set up my 90 until I figure out what to do with the wiring in there. How difficult would it be to run a dedicated circuit to this room? We already have two fuse boxes (one old round buss style fuses, the other with breakers that flip). The one going to the snake/fish room runs the three rooms in the house that use the most electricity- living room, bathroom (my wife with her hair dryer, straightener, lights, and heater for when she's showering are just about killing me!), and snake room, are all on the same 20 amp line. Any suggestions on what I could do to fix this?
