HOW LONG CAN 1 BABY PIRANHA STAY IN A 20LONG

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
idk what type they call it a gold piranha its around 2inch long

oh it doesn't really matter. I'd go with that over a red. I just don't think you'd have much fun with a single red but every fish is different. I assume you're using this tank as a grow out tank though?

tank is 20gal long and the gold is 2inch long the rbp is 1 inch

any body got some suggestions on someother types of piranhas ?

they have gold piranhas at my lfs for 30 i think i might get one of those insted

Definitely go for the gold, they are extremely aggressive when they are young and fun to watch, not picky eaters. The young red will likely be too skittish.

man I'd get a bigger tank, or some exodons. I had a serra outgrow my tank and it sucks. If you are really planning to buy a new tank just wait til there. You could probably get away with a 40 or 50 breeder for most of the serrasalmus species.

I would get that gold, or try to find a sanchezi. Within a year for sure youll be looking for a bigger tank no matter what you get. You could probably keep a rhom in there for a year or so too. They arent especially active when little and spend most of their time hiding. Just remove uneaten food within 15 minutes. wouldnt take long for rotting food to destroy the water quality in such a small tank, but my rhom who is 5-6 inches just lived 6 months in a 10 gallon while some renovations were being done and he is fine and kept growing thru the whole ordeal. He is back in a 55 now, but in a year or two will need a 90 at least.

yep im getting the on sunday setting it up cycling it and
will have the fish will post pics around october 6

i im going with the gold if my lfs still has them they only had 2
left and both had a little nipped fins but nothing a little aquarium salt and
time wont fix

should get an 55-125gal around chrismas for him to go in
