how long can a devil go without eating

ive had fish go 5 weeks with out eating, each fish is individual and if its new, it may not have been eating at the place it was before you got it.

how big is it?

how skinny is it at the moment?
 
Check your water parameters first. If there are things you know he has eaten in the past keep offering them to him. If he is just acclimating he will come around and eat. Keep an eye on him for illnesses. Dont medicate unless you are sure.
 
it's weird cause he acts like he don't see the food or don't recognize it he won't go up to the surface to even take flakes but he will go up like he's looking for food but won't even try the pellets i never seen this before. my flowerhorn was like this for a week then it would take shrimp but it took 2 weeks til it would try pellets but this fish will not eat anything but worms it's been almost 2weeks so i'm getting a bit worried my water is fine and i don't see any worms but i don't see this fish poop ever.
 
he ate a worm today but nothing else still no pellets i treated with prazi pro today but i don't think he has parasites.this is the longest i have had a fish go without eating pellets 10days so far
