How long can a dovii live in a 90-100 gallon tank?

I didn't say it wouldn't fit, I'm just saying that's a big fish for a 90. But you seem to actually know about what it will need and as long as you aren't housing it permanently I don't see a problem. A Dovii will take over a year to get to that size so you have time before you should re-house

They're a wonderful fish to own

i would say they are very very hardy fish. A friend of mine has far less than ideal keeping practices and has kept a pair in a 60 for about a year and half now including a month in a half at that time where the filter broke and it took that long to get a new one.

Wow that is good to hear, not the part about your friend neglecting the fish but the fact that they are able to survive under such crappy conditions.

I would call Ira for some dovii, the wish list is the name. He's a vendor on here and I have a beautiful pair from him. Flowerpower has the wild pair my offspring came from. He has previous pics on here and I have some of mine here too of my lil pair. IMO Ed has the nicest pair I've seen

contact IRA from the wish list on this site, i recently got some fish from him and they were amazing, sure he can help you out. if not, jeff rapps from tangledupincichlids.com is also a great source and definatly have dovii's. he has a forum on the vendor pages here as well.

i used to have a dovii in a 75g that was about 6 inches when i gave him up. cool fish

I can bet they aren't nearly as big as they should be too.

A 90gal is not ideal but that dovi with a mating female will be fine.
