I don;t know what God would have to do with this.
Surely anyone experienced knows that DHL are probably the worst shippers there are for fish, followed closely by fed-ex Ups etc.
Why would anyone risk such valuable animals by using these carriers that have these kind of problems constantly. Friends of mine in the trade that use them for shipping very hardy fish like plecos etc have constant problems, and only use DHL because they are a bit cheaper and easier to use than the others and the fish are usually OK even after 5 days in the bags when there is a screw-up like this. Most overnight shippers won;t even knowingly accept perishables at all and certainly won't insure them.
With all due respect, IMO this is entirely the fault and responsability of the seller ( sorry, no offence, but that is just the way I see it) for using such unreliable shippers.
It also baffles me that now the seller " will fight to get the buyer back his money"
That's very nice but doesn't seem quite right to me. Every seller that I know of on these boards guarantees at least alive arrival. The rays never even arrived at their destination so how can the buyer be in any way liable for any problems to this point? Why should the buyer be out of $$$'s or have to wait an extended period of time for a replaement or a refund?
Surely it is encumbant upon the seller to make this right for the buyer whether DHL coughs-up or not. Anything less surely undermines the confidence of other potential buyers in the wisdom of buying from this source.
Rays should only be shipped airport to airport same day service, it costs about the same and obviously has far fewer risks attached. Anything else is reckless risk taking on the part of the seller.
Rays often don;t 'travel' well in the first place, this is one of the ( many) reasons I stopped selling rays.
I do not mean to give any offence by this post but am simply calling it as I see it.
