How long can moonlights be left on?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
heres two pics of my tank. one has the normal day lights on, the other has the moonlights on. both are not great pics, but you get the idea. also, i changed my mind about the timer, im going to leave the moonlights on all the time and leave only the normal daylights on a timer.:) (the reflection in the tank is a nightlight, its not comming from inside the tank)

moonlights add nice effects, they don't bother your diurnal species and actually allow them enough light to find a comfy/safe place to sleep, they also provide low levels of light for nocturnal species.

I may have to look into getting some of these. There has been a lot of good engineering in low voltage lighting the last coiuple of years and this type of fixture will be a lot cheeper and have more variation in colours with higher efficiency in the years ahead...

I say get a timer and conserve energy even if its just a little. Energy is one of those things we take for granted until there isn't anymore.
