How long can they survive out of water.

OK came home from work found my bass unresponsive on the ground look dried up. Threw him in a bucket with a air stone. It has been 5 hours and still alive. threw him back in the tank his color looks normal but not as active. It is about 10 inches long. Am i save to say it will not die?
 
Not sure. But keep him in front if a Powerhead. Might help.

ud be surprised. one time ice fishing had about a 4lb bass on the ice all day. later that night i was horrified as he thawed and came back to life in my sink. cant tell ya how many times ive found a "dry" fish only to fully recover. good luck
 
I had an RTC survive from this. I would put in some aquarium salt to help him breath and restore his slime coat. Maybe some API slime coat healer also. But please keep us posted.
 
He made it with in an hour in the tank he was hitting sticks and going crazy as usual. That was a close one.
