Calorie restriction to the rescue! That's why my fish are always thin. If you look through my galleries you'll notice very few of the fish that I have 'control of diet' over are heavy at all. Algae eaters, what am I supposed to do, right? But the angel fish and jurupari, the Oscar and others are on a very slim portion to keep the tank clean and extend their lives. I won't be surprised when my angelfish hits 20 years.

Still working on my own diet. Organic sugar is still sugar...
 
I just said this, since most of the bigger fish in the German forum which go to a nearby university to perform an autopsy on simply put, seem to be too fat. Even if the cause of death wasn't the fat, it would've been sooner or later. At least that's how it appeared to me in a lot of cases.
