How long do I have

Oh, my suggestion was based on him receiving the tore up tail in your tank. I would keep an eye on it and if it looks like it is having some trouble then you should be ready to separate him from the rest of your fish. If you use the method of putting some cycled media from you current filter into a new and cheap internal filter then you will have a cycled tank right away. Ask me how I know that. Lol

This might not be necessary, but, like I mentioned, I am just trying to be cautious.

I just put him in this morning and i got home at 7pm today, and he was up by the heater. I didn't move decor around before j left so I did when I got home. I haven't seen him eat or look interested yet

I feed mine frozen bloodworms. They have eaten extremely well since I got them but I did get mine locally and made sure I got them the same food they were being fed at the store. They are freakin pigs!

Yeah my old one are night crawlers and bloodworms and shrimp lol I just don't want him to die at night but I don't think the other eel would be able to do to much to him I have a lot of hiding spots hope he finds one at night

I will be feeding mine night crawlers as soon as they are big enough to eat them. I might try to get some small earthworms the next time it rains...

Anyone know if I'll be able to keep the dayyi and the fire eel together long term? I've always thought fire eels were more docile but I just read a post that says the shouldn't be with other eels
