So can I expect atleast 20years from an acrylic?

like i said the acrylic tanks we get hear in the UK are garanteed for life and preasure tested

the joints are also real nice and i have seen some real crappy made acylic tank made in the US they just look like acrylic boxes with holes cut out the top

i would never buy a glass tank agian if you are going big small tanks you may as well go glass

but anything above 300g acrylic all the way its just so much clearer than glass when you go above 12mm IMO

thanks; it'll probably be some thick acrylic, the tank will be 36" high.

what do acrylic tank tops looks like? I'm new to acrylic so I don't know but on mine; unlike glass tanks that are fully opened on the top, the tank is almost entirely covered except for 2 slots in the back and 2 big holes in the middle of the tank.

Now if I get onto big tanks like the 10', will it have multiple holes are 2 giant holes on the top of the tank?

nice tank by the way, like the tig

if you are going big get acrylic its easyer to move and yes the tank does fall apart when you take the silacon off

the last glass tank i had after 10yrs the stress bars in the middle just fell off

acrylic is much clearer than glass and if you get a well made acrylic tank its just a much nicer finish

i know some people are going to wine that it scraches easy but i have had my tank for 2.5yrs and theirs not a mark on it so it all depends on the grade of acrylic and how well its made

who did you buy it from

ive got one acrylic tank that is almost 20 it has some stress marks in the back corners but still works its been through hell too

10 years? :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:
my tank is 32
older then me :D

well you are brave the silacon is only garanteed for 10yrs

my acrylic tank look the same as a glass tank from the top normal stress bars

not an acrylic box with holes cut out

my tank was mad buy a company called neptune hear in the UK

If you are doing a 3ft deep tank it will need to be at least 22mm thick if that was glass it would have a bad green tint in the glass
