How long does a rays venomous stinger last once shed?

Not sure on ray stinger, but on other venomous fish like stone fish, lion fish, scorpion fish, I was told not to touch the dead one by hand during the next 2 hours after fish is dead, due to the venom

Never had a stinger shed with skin still attached, but for what it's worth, here's a couple without. I'd be interested to see pics of shed stinger with skin still intact too.

technicly the poison is still there.... i have a necklace with a stinger on it.... i boiled it in water, (protien breaks down at high heat) and sprayed it with clear coat just to be sure.
