How long does it take your bichirs to find their food?

Do your bichirs start looking for food soon after you drop it into the tank or does it take awhile for them to look for it and find it?

I think it depends on how hungry they are, and also how they are used with the food.

I noticed with my polys that they find tilapia much faster than they look for and find pellets. Maybe tilapia smells stronger to them and makes it easier to find.

Mine will take like 2 mins just to find the pellets.

I feed my bichirs in the same spot at the same time everyday so they know instantly.

Less than a minute for mine. the thing is, the bichir needs to get used to the food it's been eating for it to find it fast. Sometimes they sniff(find0 it but they just ignore it. i feed mine sinking pellets and brine shrimp and so they find it in a zip!

Takes a matter of seconds for my palmas and sen, but it seems abit longer for my dels and ornate

my guys start to go nuts almost immediately after the food hits the water but it takes them about a minute to actually find where it is.

Mine take about 10-15 seconds after the food hits the water until they are eating it.

With my pair, one notices almost immediately and finds it within 30 seconds. The second one just kind of eases on over. Number one has grown noticeably faster.
