Can never perdict these things. Some fish never get along. They could fight until they sort out dominance or until one is dead. One fish may not kill the other fish but make it's life a living hell until it dies from stress. Are there any other tank mates?

Put a divider in for a week.

If you only have a GT and a Texas in a 150 you could always add more fish... I've found it way easier to keep SA/CA cichlids together with 4-8 fish verses just a couple. How big are the two you have?? Also, as already brought up to you, it might not ever work as these things sometimes just don't work regardless of what you do... each fish has a different personality. Good luck.

I've introduced larger fish and had the smallerestablished fish dominate the for a few weeks before the newer fish realized it doesn't have to stand for their aggression at which point the newer fish dominated the established fished fish for a few weeks.

the stock at first was an Oscar, JD, GT, and Texas, with bichir not caring on the bottom :). but the JD and O stayed on one side and the GT and Texas on the other fighting in teams like a old Godzilla movie, lol then I removed the Oscar, the JD got scared and was being chased while the GT hunkered in the corner. Ok moved the JD, the GT and Texas started fighting, Put my massive 15 In Female Oscar in tank, not the original stocked O but another. Her and the Texas stated fighting with GT back in corner not to get in way. SOOO put the smaller passive oscar and GT in a 125 with a giant common pleco, no fighting, the Oscar just normally follows GT, but the GT is kinda timid now. Back in the 150 The Texas and Oscar have the own Drift wood pile and stay around them only fighting if one gets to close. all the while the bichirs lay on the bottom. ;) my Dream plan was to have the smaller O, JD, GT and Texas as the the top fish with Bichirs on the bottom with 2x Fx6s for a while. Stupid fish urghhh....
