How long does new fish fighting go on

well gonna get some SDs today and atm, GT and smaller O are fine, The O wants to swim with him like he did with the JD, but the GT is kinda leary, The Big female O and the Texas still ocasinaly fight, they stick to there own DW but when the go to each others they dont lip lock but come at each other with there mouth open and stop. I will re arrange that tank and add some SDs to that to
 
I gave up trying to mix aggressive new world cichlids over the summer. I was never able to keep the same group together for longer than 3-4 months without aggression getting outta hand and got sick of buying and selling fish all the time. Figured I'd rather keep a single wet pet in my 125 (male jag) that can live a relatively stress free life than a group of fish that are stressed 24/7 from never being able to rest and are constantly getting their fins shredded. Having said that, I'd say there's a solid 80% chance that they'll never stop fighting.

Every store I went to today was out of SDs, seems all is well except when one crises the line, but I did leave lights out while gone, came home and they were swimming close together and not fighting.. So idk
