How long does salt last?

That is what I was thinking too. It seems like it stays around for years on salt flats etc... I don't mind paying for a new bag I was just curious. Sounds like it's more personal caution than a direct threat? I don't plan on using it, I'm a non-expert :screwy: and don't want to risk my set up, especially while acclimating the tank...
 
well look at it like this if you take salt water and let the water evaporate whats left? the salt
