How long for a Arapaima gigas to reach its full size?

build the 500 and go for the amazon biotope with the aros nd rays just not the gigas

All I have to say is "when it gets too big I'll donate it" is not a good plan. But hopefully you're off the idea now.
 
also if your going to get an arapaima make sure you check with a public aquarium and make sure that theyll take it when it outgrows your tank.

think of the AG's long term well being. Dont think of yourself and get one because someone else has a fish you dont have. Those AG's they have most likely may not surive to be full grow or semi full grown adults.
