That's exactly what I was thinking when I was looking at the tank. This is how it's supposed to be buttttt clear water is much more appealing lol.
I think I'll add an extra hob when I get home from work.
Will this temporary cloudiness effect my plants and the light they receive or am I worrying too much??
Are you doing a sand cap on the dirt? If you weren't going to, I'd suggest looking into it. It'll avoid cloudy water every time you do a waterchange. Also wayyy easier to vacuum poop.
Not doing a sand cap. I've thought about and was going to do it but I plan on adding some dwarf cichlids and didn't want them digging through the sand and hitting the dirt anyway. The way I siphon my tank now works perfectly to get the poo up. If I hold it about an inch away and gently swirl the siphon the poo gets disrupted enough to be sucked up without messing up the substrate. I did this with my African tank that had sugar grain sized sand and it worked nicely. However, if it doesn't work the way I want it to I'll take up the idea of adding a sand cap
Capped and filled without the Cory cats. Need to cover up a few spots I missed due to the cloudy water but it's starting to look betters. 10 pristellas and 10 bloodfins right now.
