How long for tannins to clear

My tank has been yellow since about November. I'm curious if its gonna be like this forever or what? Lightened up a touch but definitely yellow. I like to see a clear tank but I love my driftwood. So what do u guys figure? Nother year?

I hear if you have carbon in your filter it helps reduce it or speed up the process. cant remember add is kicking in right now.

Is the tank acrylic or glass?? Sometimes tannins leach into the acrylic and it never goes completely crystal again..

wow, i've heard people say it could take a year or more, but figured those were for the worst type of woods for driftwood.

I have two pieces of what the lfs called African Bogwood.(regular driftwood I suppose) I've had them for over a year and they still stain the water, albeit not as bad as before.

I have driftwoods here that are about 6 years and they still release tannins. A carbon will help but water changes help as well.

CArbon and a product called polyfilter will remove tannins, works for me. Changing water quite often works too.

Yeah my tannins have never gone away. They have lightened up though. I just do a 30% WC every other day and it keeps it from looking like pee.

i just put a piece of drift wood in and clear as can be i still got a rock holding it down though
