How long must I rinse new Charcoal

A QUICK RINSE IS ALL THATS NEEDED, 5 TO 10 SECONDS WORKS WELL, ALSO PUT IT IN A SOCK. THE DUST WON'T HURT YOUR FISH OR TANK.

IF YOU FORGET TO CHANGE IT AFTER 3 WEEKS IT WILL JUST BECOME PART OF YOUR BIOLOGICAL FILTRATION.

Ok, if the dust is bothering you, is it possible to use a filter sock (or even a knee high nylon would work)?

Do you have a special problem that you're using carbon for?

Clarkston Dr. Joe. I use it to take out anything that is in the water and also to keep the water as clear as possible.

I just rinse it till most of the dust is gone maybe 5 mins top.
