not to mention, i used to keep large barrels and containers of aged/treated water, so once the tanks are drained, i just take the pump out of the tank, put it in the barrel, run the hose to the display, and plug her back in.
i can change a 180g with gravel vac, glass cleaning, and filter cleaning, in just a matter of minutes.
maximum efficiency... minimum effort.
I couldn't agree more, I have converted my 220 to a bare bottom with a drilled drain, and a dedicated water feed line. Some times I do a water change just because its so easy and I remember the old days of the buckets. I open the drain line my tank wait 16 minutes, then come back close the drain, open the water feed line, wait about 12 - 18 minutes while the tank refills.
I have been trying to find a 100% reliable way to always drop in 25ml of prime after the water is drained; but until then I still just use a syringe and manually add it. Its very nice to not have to get wet or suck on a tube to change the water; turn 2 valves and call it a day.
