I think it's been years, but I'm reaching out today because I think my 15 year old silver arowana, Archamedes, is dying. I just wrote a paragraph and the dang internet went out causing me to have to re-type... I'll try to cut it short. I bought him when I was 21 at Walmart (crazy, right?), the fish department lady at the time, liked exotic fish, obviously not thinking that most people who buy fish at wally world aren't in it for a life-time commitment... Anyway, through trial and error and hundreds of hours reading about them online, we grew from 6" and a 10 gallon tank to 33" and a 100 gallon tank. I know it's not quite big enough, but he's actually quite calm and content now that he's older. Back when I first got him I read a lot that said 20 years was the typical life-span in captivity for a silver arowana, but not I'm reading 25-35 years and I can't stop thinking I'm killing himWe did a partial water change and I added some aquarium salt and tank stabilizer to hopefully de-stress or heal him. Please advise or help!
