the title says it all. he is about 1 1/2 to maybe 2 inches right now foods are live feeders, pellets, flakes anything else i should be feeding him? i have a jd in there we have had him/her for over a year and he is probably 6 or 7 inches

Ive had min a little over a year n hes 6in. Got him at about 1 1/2 or 2 inch

My first Oscar was 2" when I bought him. After one year in a 75g with pellets, guppies and other non-cyprinid feeders he reached 13". But even with 50% water changes twice a week the 75g was too small and nitrates were always a battle. Eventually he got HITH and I could not make it go away.

Now my new Oscar took a year to only reach 11", but he's wild caught and I didn't feed him as heavily as I did my first O.

With two 33% water changes per week, variety of dry foods, hikari food sticks, cichlid gold, carnivore/massivore, talapia, raw shrimp, and NO feederfish, 12" in the first year should be no problem, providing your tank is at the very least 90g imo.

Also with oscars feeder fish = HITH, imo.

Ours took about 2 years to get fully grown, no feeders lots of frozen food
