Do you think it could possibly be better or worse to replace the Jack Dempsey with a Red Tiger Motaguense?
My Jd is a punk but he's small. I've heard rtm s are pretty aggressive. I have a Freddy that's not aggressive at all.
Generally speaking the Jd is not going to be as aggressive as the rest especially once they all pass the 7-8" mark

Sounds good. I'd really like to get a female Red Devil for me Male but I fear he'll go through a slaughter every living thing in the tank. Either that or he'll force them to live life in a cave at all times only coming out to eat (maybe). But I might go ahead and see what happens once I get rid of a few GTs i have that never paired up like I wanted them to. Might be upgrading to a 15o gallon soon so that should help as well.
Yea that's what I was thinking. I don't want TOO MUCH fighting (though with cichlids its un avoidable) but at the same time I want each fish to be able to hold their ground against the others. I might take the RD out and the JD and just go with maybe a female RTM since the females have the best colors (kinda like the Festaes).
It will be good once they hit about 9" you'll want to upgrade working ona 275gallon right now with a Green terror, Jack dempsey, Jaguar, dovii, and a peacock bass. Once mine get around 8" im upgraded to a pond that is atleast 500gallons custom built. The convicts might not last though.. dovii, jag, and devil are going bully them. But good luck update us when you get this setup.

A pond sounds pretty kool. I just don't like the fact that you can't really see what's going on with your fish the same as you can with an aquarium.
