how long without food?

How well fed were they??? For the most part, fish can do without food for several days, unless they are very young.
Fish are tough and hardy, but it really depends on their age, size, and how they are taken care of. I had guppy fry that were 1 week old. I came back after two weeks, they were alive and made it, no joke. For the most part, fish are fine with out food for a good few days. After that they can still live, but it can deteriorate their health.

haha no their not together, the aro is in a 55 and the fahaka is in a 60, im looking at a 110 for the fahaka and kinda not sure about the silver because i dont think i can ever get large enough tank... but anyway my friends who don't keep fish are constantly telling me to let them live together... what a disater it would be
Food pyramid would not help with either of the fish he is worried about. As far as food, those two will be fine for that short a time. As long as you have good equipment, and keep up on maintanence, there won't be any problems (not accounting power outages, or failures).
