power feeding to force an animal (including a fish) to grow faster is detrimental to their health.
with a normal feeding schedule, twice a day when they are young, once a day after 10 inches, and every other day after 15 inches is a little more realistic and your aro will grow naturally and healthy.
i got my big aro, Pinky, when she was about 6", in late 2006.. she is now just about 2 ft long (24 inches). with irregular water changes and regular water testing so i know when the water needs to be changed. and the feeding schedule above, she's happy and healthy and growing still. has minor drop eye on one side.

I can feed him about 6-9 worms a day.
