How long...?

dont starve it for a week, starve it 3 days tops it should eat that pellet and dont switch it off once u get it goin till they hit 10''

Well i do WC's 2 times a day.. He should eat sometime soon...

I had 3 choices for an Aro.. My 1st was a Jardini which was not available..then i saved up enough cash to get an African Aro..but those got sold out.. So Silver is my last choice.. I can't afford a green right now..

Try to wait untill he is alittle larger so he can go longer without food. I would give him FD krill first. I have a 2 year old Jardini and before I had a silver. Neither one would touch pellets untill I give them Krill first. It has alittle more scent to it then a pellet will but still gets them used to eating something that doesnt swim. I would give him minimal live but keep offering krill untill you get him switched over.

Try bloodworm's,most fish's love bloodworm's so why not?
,they are also very meaty,my red tail catfish still loves them and he is 12".
I would feed your arowana with something meaty for lunch and dinner but try pellets for breakfast =) =P

good luck with your silver arowana.

why does it need water changes every day?what about water quality?
i think that WC's every day is just too many.

Frequent waterchanges = good water quality. I do this with every juvenile fish I raise and I have excellent results in doing so. I'm not saying do 100% a day...just 25% daily.

as long as he is eating beef heart ..why starve him... just every couple of days try pellets, take them out if he is not interested.. then try again the next week..eventually he will take them..and also try freeze dried krill and shrimp etc.. as long as he is off live food i would not starve him and i would not worry...

I am still trying to get my 10" gold xb to eat pellets. I starved him for 2 weeks when I first got him but his health began to decline. I am now stuffing pieces of prawn with 2mm New Life Spectrum pellets to give him added nutrition but he still won't take pellets. I tried the Hikari food sticks as well but he wouldn't even mouth them. You might have better luck when the fish is older. I bought a 19" RTG that was fed prawns and he was quite fat. I starved him for 21 days before he started to eat pellets and now he eats 7 mm NLS exclusively.

wow 21 days without a food!!
that is mean,i bet ya that was skinny as a stick =P
starving a fish for that long is bad for it health.

I doubt it...an Aro that size could go over a month without food and probably lose very little weight. I had a 17" Shortnose gar refuse food for over 4 months...in the end he decided to eat and all was well.
